The European Poker Tour set up shop on the beautiful Mediterranean coast in October 2024, bringing elite tournament poker to the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa for EPT Cyprus. The spectacular setting provided the backdrop for one of the most competitive Main Events of the fall season.

The $5,300 Main Event attracted a massive field of 1,284 entries, generating a prize pool of over $6.2 million. Ultimately, it was German poker pro Oliver Weis who emerged victorious, capturing his first EPT Main Event title and the incredible $1,030,000 first-place prize.
As detailed on Poker.org, Weis entered the final table with the chip lead and masterfully applied pressure. He ultimately defeated local Cypriot favorite Georgios Tsouloftas in a tense heads-up match to secure the Golden Shard trophy.
